Weight Loss with Mounjaro
Mounjaro is a weekly injection that aids weight loss by suppressing the appetite, similar to Wegovy. After using Mounjaro for 18 months, patients can expect to lose nearly 21% of their starting body weight.Mounjaro is a weekly injection containing the active ingredient tirzepatide. When used alongside a balanced diet and active lifestyle, it can be an effective medication to promote sustainable, long-
term weight loss.
THAT IS BECAUSE MOUNJARO:
- Suppresses your appetite to facilitate a calorie deficit
- Stimulating both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, which regulate blood sugar levels and slows the rate of digestion, helping you feel full for longer
Inform your health care provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over- the-counter medicines, vitamins, herbal supplements, and other medicines to treat diabetes, including insulin and sulfonylureas.
DO NOT USE MOUNJARO IF:
- You are allergic to tirzepatide or any of the inactive ingredients in Mounjaro, including sodium chloride or sodium phosphate dibasic heptahydrate
- You or any of your family have Medullary Thyroid Cancer MTC or if you have Multiple
Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2. MEN2
Tell your Doctor if you have any other medical condition, including if you:
- Have or have had pancreas complications or kidney disease
- Are planning surgery or other procedures that uses anaesthesia or deep sedation
- Have a history of diabetic retinopathy or gastroparesis
- Are pregnant, become pregnant, or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. It is not yet fully understood if Mounjaro will harm your unborn baby or passes into your breast milk
What are the possible side effects of Mounjaro Weight Loss Injections?
- Low blood sugar in people with diabetes (hypoglycaemia). Your risk for getting low blood sugar may be higher if you use Mounjaro with another medicine that can cause low blood sugar, such as a sulfonylurea or insulin. Signs and symptoms of low blood sugar may include: dizziness or Iightheadedness, blurred vision, anxiety, irritability or mood changes, sweating, slurred speech, hunger, confusion or drowsiness, shakiness, weakness, headache, fast heartbeat, and feeling jittery.
- Changes in vision in people with diabetes. Tell your health care provider if you have changes in vision during treatment with Mounjaro
- Signs of thyroid tumour symptoms. Stop using Mounjaro and call your Doctor at once if you experience any of the following: swelling or a lump in your neck, trouble swallowing, a hoarse voice, or shortness of breath.
- Kidney problems. In people who have kidney problems, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting may cause a loss of fluids (dehydration), which may cause kidney problems to get worse. It is important for you to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration.
- Gallbladder problems. Gallbladder problems have happened in some people who take Mounjaro. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get symptoms which may include: pain in your upper stomach (abdomen), fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), or clay-coloured stools.
